Addicted to TVB series again

If you ask any 10 chineses on the street, i'm sure there are at least 2 people watched or watching this latest and popular series, 家好月圓.

Thanks to Kevin who brought the whole season for me in 2 small, little pendrives. Now i'm totally addicted with the show. For those people who fancy hong kong's series, this is a show that you musn't miss. There are lot and lots of dramatic scene that will keep you wanting for more. SPM and STPM students better don't watch the movie now, it will definitely distract you, haha!

Just pay a visit at your nearest pasar malam, i'm sure all the cd/dvd stalls are promoting this show. It's like an epidemic! Same thing happens in the shopping malls where they sell original copies, guess what is the price? ..... It's RM39.90 for 1 volume which consists of 4 episodes, and there are 10 volumes you need to buy if you want to watch the whole show, which means i need to spend RM400 for a complete series. OMG, that's so expensive! (Glad that kevin had given me a copy....i know we should support original production, but the price is just too riddiculous lah....)

Can't make a synopsis for you guys because i haven't finish the series, why don't you watch it yourself?

SUPPORT ORIGINAL, BUY ORIGINAL! (so hippocritical, hehe!)

Hong Kong Trip

Hong Kong is a very nice place, for those who never been there, i strongly recommed you all to go. For girls, it is like heaven on earth, there are uncountable shopping malls and markets for shoppoholics to go crazy all day and all night. Well, for a boring guy like me, i personally like to immerse myself in this fast-paced city and enjoy watching the people hustling in every corner. Must to mention hong kong's theme parks, like disneyland and ocean park, the places that you shouldn't miss, but don't expect too much on their rides. At the same time, i got the opportunity to visit their various muziums, like Muzium of Arts, Muzium of History, Space Muzium and Science Muzium. All these places only made me feel more inferior and showed how little knowledge i know, sigh...

In conclusion, i enjoy the plce very much. Definitely will visit the place again.

Just arrived in hong kong, inside the bus to the hotel

First meal in hk, cheese baked rice with pork chop, seriously unforgettable

At Ladies Street, fill with people

This big billboard is actually advertising the tuition teachers, really amazed me, all of them look like celebrities
In xiao yi zhang's speed boat

Dolphin performance, a show that you musn't miss in ocean park

This ride is called Bungee Trampoline, just jump and jump for 2 minutes

Behind us is Pacific Pier, the place to keep seals and sea lions, till now i still duno how to differentiate both of them

Our favourite menu at Cafe de Coral, the famous fast food in hong kong

The fast food style breakfast, surprisingly very nice

Back from Vacation

Hey people, i'm back from hong kong, the trip was awesome. I ate lots and lots of food till i gain weight, i guess, haha! The place was nice, though it is a bit over-crowded. We went to most of the famour streets, ocean parks, disneyland and other major town areas. In conclusion, we had lots of fun!

I'll further update my blog when i get the pictures from james.

Thanks to james for giving me this birthday present that i'm sure i won't forget in my whole life.

Thanks to xiao yi and xiao yi zhang for bringing us around.

Going off soon

It's my bag pack again, and it always signifies one thing, which is VACATION, yeah! Yesterday i was browsing through several friends' blogs, and found out that most of them already started their clinical year. Almost all of them were complaining it was really tough and it's totally different from phase 1. I can't really imagine it as i'm still enjoying 6 months honeymoon, hehe!

Well, before i start suffering clinical next year, let's appreciate the free time that i own now!

(will be going off for 1 week, definitely will update right after i come back)

Astonished

For the first time in my life, i saw an Indian wedding was being held at the chinese temple's common hall in my village. Quite awkward, don't you think so? I'm not invited in the occasion, but as part of the 'busy-body crowd' outside the hall, it seemed everything went quite well. They decorated the hall with some indian's ornament so that overall looked less chinese-ish. Of course they served indian cuisine, and the smell of the food was so strong till i kept on thinking of 'banana nim nie'... Fireworks and thunderous music were the highlight of the occasion. At the same time, it caused minute traffic congestion at the main road, which rarely happen here except during chinese new year and the ghost festival celebration.

Does this scenario fit to the term 'racial integration'? I know this term needs massive effort in order to make it happen, but after seeing this 'indian wedding in chinese hall' incident, i'm actually quite optimistic about it. To stay in a multi racial, multi religious and multi cultural community, tolerance is the utmost essence. There are things bound to be clashed on each other, hatred and doubt are definitely not the solutions, but tolerance is. Even if A is not in good term with B, they shouldn't backstab each other or do some silly things like tear each other's photo. Behave like a grown-up , please! All of us are very forgiving, so apologizing won't cost a fortune!

Suddenly i think of this pepatah, hope it is not wrong: Bersatu teguh, bercerai roboh

New Tool

Yesterday newspaper introduced a software that can help us to reduce PC's energy consumption. Well, the purpose of this software is not just helping you to pay lesser electricity bill, in fact it's main objective is to save the earth. "save the energy, save the world (lame)"

Anyway, i'm sure you all already know that power generation (especially using coal, gas and to certain extent nuclear, hydro...) is indeed not environmental friendly. But who can survive in this era without electricity? While waiting for the scientists' invention on advanced, clean power generators like solar or tidal, we as commoner actually can also contribute, by simply reducing domestic consumption of energy. "there are ways to get there, if you care enough for the living"

At least save it for our children....

Chat with uncle

Yesterday my uncle dropped by at my place and we chatted for awhile. Once i told him that i'm going to new zealand next year, he gave a thumb up. He said the place is so nice and peaceful.... Unlike the younger generation, they would say: "what can you do there? it's like for the old people to stay..." *sweat*

Anyway, the highlight of our conversation was about his children, who are my cousins. He said that his children's grades are dropping and all of them have started dating. He blamed all of this to the invention of:

Handphone (at the same time, check out caryn's new phone)

My uncle said because of handphone, all of my cousins seem unable to concentrate on study. According to him, they need to text at least 5 sms per hour, of course to their bf/gf, and this behavior has greatly impacted their grades. At first, i don't really believe it until i notice my brother also doing the same thing, sigh....

Nobody seems able to live without handphone nowadays, everyone has one, even a primary school kid can hold a 3G phone. 5 years ago when i had my first handphone, i was considered as minority in the class. I didn't have many friends with handphone so the poor ericsson was always remained dormant at my house for most of the time. But now, you can always see the youngsters showing off each other's latest model, forwarding sms-es, exchanging ringtone...anything you can do with the tiny devise.

Back to the main purpose of the invention of handphone, don't you think people have violated its noble objective? which i quote Nokia's tag line: 'Connecting People'. Last time my mum used to threaten me if i didn't study hard she would take away the tv. Now my uncle said if his children show no improvement in the coming exams, he would keep all their handphones. Funny, isn't it?

Handphone itself is a neutral creation, it is human who determine its purpose. Just like a knife, it depends who is the one to hold it, a butcher or a killer?

Nice Quote

"When people speak of great men, they think of men like Napoleon, men of violence, rarely do they think of peaceful men. But contrast the reception they'll received, when they return home from their battles, Napoleon will arrive in pomp and in power, a man who's achieved the very summit of earthly ambition. Yet his dreams will be haunted by the oppressions of war. William Wilberforce, however, will return to his family, lay his head on pillow and remember, the slave trade is no more."

From the movie 'Amazing Grace'
