Survival Tips

The picture above is demostrating a method to protect yourself during earthquake. It is called the triangle of life. Instead of hiding beneath a big surface, you should lean against some strong furnitures so that you won't be squashed or deep buried within the rubble when the whole building collapses.
I saw this picture from a forwarded email from sin mei quite some time ago. However, during the recent earthquake, i was trying to cover my head underneath a study table in library. What a silly move! But never mind, almost everybody there was doing the same thing and nobody got hurt.

Earthquake!

Another big and devastating earthquake had hit Christchurch again. It lasted less than a minute but it felt like forever.

Just to let the people that i love that i'm alright. The telecommunication has been restored recently. Really appreciate all the warm regards and heart-touching texts. I feel loved.

Anyway, power and water supply were back to normal. My house seems fine. Not sure what will happen next, so i'll just stay put and play by ear.

Compare to others, i'm really fortunate. Hope the sufferers will get through this disaster soon.

Ignite The Light

I had my birthing suite night shift few days ago. My mind kept thinking about Katy Perry's Firework music video clip when i was in the labour room. Instead of singing 'you just gotta ignite...the light...and let it shines...', my whole night was about 'yea..push...yes...you are doing great...keep pushing...'
The next morning when i went back home to rest, i was dreaming another shift in birthing suite...gosh, that's so tiring.

Hedgehog In The Pool!

Yesterday morning before i went to school, i saw a creature wiggling its way in the middle of my house swimming pool. To my astonishment, it was a hedgehog! (first time seeing a wild hedghog, scared scared...) It wasn't dead but it was struggling to get out of the pool.

I quickly grabbed my phone and snapped a picture of it. A few seconds later, it curled into a ball and seemed to be drowning. Oh no... I should have save the poor creature first instead of taking its picture. *guilt kicking in* Without wasting more time, i put down my phone and used a scoop to lift it out of the water.

It seemed lifeless after i put it down at the side of the pool. I ain't going to do CPR on it, no way! So i used a rod to poke and prod it for a few times. Phew... it started to have some body movement, i could see some breathing effort, not sure about pulse, GSC was probably at the lower end, responded well to my poking, haha!

I saved a life!

(better put more chlorin in the pool this weekend before i dunk myself in)

Simply Beautiful

This is a TV advertisement by Telecom NZ. Just spend one and a half minute of yours and watch it, i'm sure it would melt your icy heart. Not to mention the song playing at the background is simply beautiful. Went online and search for the song. To my dismay, the song is not available to the public. The song is entitled We're Like Balloons by Chelsea Jade. Please let me know if you can find the source.

I admire the pure and innocent friendship between the 2 boys with different skin colours who used to spend their childhood together. If only thing can remain as it is forever. '....Our hearts don't have heavy parts... like balloons... we float to new heights...'

p/s: 恭祝大家农历新年快乐,心想事成,万事如意!
